Contract Compliance Update

In September 2021 practices sent data to the LMC regarding inappropriate workload transfer from secondary care.  The LMC is grateful to those practices and individuals who provided us with this data.

The report based on this information has been helpful in discussions with CCG and Trusts.  All Trusts have reviewed the data and have agreed that more need to be done to improve patient pathways and culture to reduce this transfer of work.

We have generated some easy-to-follow flow charts for specialists so that they better understand the processes which they should follow for the three highest impact areas: provision of medication, organising investigations, and onward referral.

The draft flow charts attached are available for you to download and view. These have not been signed-off by all Trusts yet but can act as a reminder for you and your teams.  When they are agreed we will share the final versions.
