Parliamentary Enquiry- The future of General Practice

The Health and Social Care Committee of the House of Commons has started an enquiry into “The future of General Practice”.  This enquiry, led by ex-Secretary of State Jeremy Hunt, will examine “the key challenges facing general practice over the next five years as well as the biggest current and ongoing barriers to access general practice”, and “will explore specific issues including regional variation in general practice, the general practice workload, and the partnership model of general practice”.

The LMC will respond to this enquiry and encourages as many individuals and practices as possible to do so too. It would also help to engage with your PPGs so that you can support them to respond to the enquiry.

We ask that any responses to the enquiry also be copied to the LMC so that we can shape our response based upon your views.

The enquiry can be accessed via parliament.uk website and responses must be submitted before 14th December 2021.
