Prescribing in General Practice- BMA Guidance

The BMA has just published guidance for general practice regarding many areas of prescribing practice. This document answers many questions which GPs and LMCs have had regarding prescribing. The guidance is available in the attachments at the top of this page and on the BMA website .

Of particular interest, the guidance covers:

  • Drug switching
  • Medicines shortages
  • Prescribing incentive schemes
  • Community drug charts

We would encourage practices to read these guidelines and debate their implementation.
