Upcoming change to the HPV vaccine programme from 1 September 2023 [ARCHIVED]

The letter linked here outlines the upcoming change to the HPV vaccine programme from 1 September 2023.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) have advised that one dose is shown to be just as effective as two doses at providing protection from HPV infection.  Teenagers and gay and bisexual men and men who have sex with men (GBMSM) up to the age of 25 will only require one dose of the vaccine to be fully protected.  Those who have already received one dose of the vaccine prior to 1 September 2023 will be considered fully vaccinated.  GBMSM aged 25 up to the age of 45 will still require two doses and those that are living with HIV or known to be immunocompromised will still require three doses.
