Spilsby Surgery is a small rural training and dispensing practice of approximately 7500 patients, situated on the edge of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We currently have 2 GP Partners, about 3 regular locum GPs and a nurse practitioner (NP) along with a mix of Practice Nurses, HCAs and administrative and management support. We also work collaboratively with surrounding practices via the primary care network (PCN) and share other staff members like the first contact physiotherapist, psychiatric nurse, pharmacists/pharmacy techs, and health and wellbeing coaches. We pride ourselves on demonstrating a blend of working as with innovation and efficiency in a diverse team.
Spilsby really is a great place to be. Schools are good, both Grammar and State, and housing is great value. We believe strongly in a learning environment and have weekly clinical meetings and training sessions. We are also a training practice and are mindful of workplace wellbeing; offering our staff a range of benefits and day to day provisions to foster a culture of mutual support and a good work-life balance.
Though we have had recent challenges due to partnership and management changes, over the past years we have been successful financially and in business, looking after today whilst planning for tomorrow but this isn’t our main focus. We pride ourselves on great patient care, continued learning/professional development and reflective practice so that we can continually improve services and maintains standards of clinical practice and professional development.
We have one-two vacancies for a salaried doctor, for 6-8 clinical sessions (but we are happy to consider less or more) as we rebuild stability and a more resilient workforce. This is to replace a long-standing salaried doctors who moved on and other changing work commitments in the Practice. Start date is again negotiable, but the sooner the better from our point of view.
We are reassessing our core Partnership model and recruiting for a new Partner as well for similar sessional commitment and with negotiable working arrangements.
