We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse who will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice population.

About Us

Here at Caythorpe and Ancaster Medical Practice we are a friendly and caring Practice, which provides a range of services for the 9,500+ patients who are registered with us. We strive to ensure every patient receives excellent medical service from all members of staff within the Practice.

We have a skilled and experienced team comprising of 3 GP Partners, 5 GPs, a Nurse Practitioner, Paramedic Practitioner, Clinical Care Co-ordinating team and an excellent nursing team. As well as the existing team, we are a training Practice and have dedicated GP registrars working with our team. Alongside these we have a highly motivated and competent Reception/ Administration team and Dispensary team.

Job Description

Main duties of the job

  • Immunisations and vaccinations including Travel vaccinations
  • Cervical Smear Clinics
  • Dressings-removal of sutures
  • ECG’s
  • Unrinalysis
  • BP Management
  • Spirometry
  • Promote Health and wellbeing
  • Promote a learning environment for patients, nurses and other health professionals

Requirements for successful applicant

  • Assist with the planning and implementation and teaching for practice staff including Medical Students, Nurse Students, Nurses and Health Care Assistants.
  • Feel comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Take a consultative approach to their work, appropriately involving relevant people
  • Ability to take a role in managing chronic diseases and QOF
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • A willingness to learn new skills and be open to suggestions – Hold a current and full driving licence and have access to a car and be prepared to to do home visits for Flu and Covid. Vaccinations.
  • High level of self-awareness.

Skills & Experience
– Must be a qualified Registered Nurse with a valid nursing license
– Proven experience in providing patient care in a healthcare setting
– In-depth knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
– Understanding of role of the practice nurse.
– Ability to contribute effectively to team meetings
– Ability to demonstrate application of evidence based practice.
– Good time management skills, punctual, able to manage and prioritise work load
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work unsupervised
– Evidence of IT literacy and keyboard skills (typing)

Experience:

  • Nursing: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • NMC (required)
  • Driving Licence (required)
