Job summary
Willingham-by-Stow Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. Our successful applicant would be required to work 15-20hrs per week and provide holiday cover. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified nurse registered with the NMC. We would also consider applications from nurses without GP experience, training would be provided to the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Our successful candidate will be involved in delivering safe, high quality primary care nursing services to our practice population. They will be responsible for the implementation of processes for the effective management of patients with long-term conditions, childhood vaccination & immunisations and screening programmes.
About us
We are lucky to have a well-established practice team and a positive working environment. Our clinical records are held on SystmOne which is integrated with other parts of the local NHS. Prior experience in SystmOne is desirable but not essential as training can be given. Our team consists of 1 GP partner, 4 salaried GPs, 1 ANP, 3 Practice nurses, 2 HCAs, and three Phlebotomists. We also benefit from excellent reception and admin support.
We are a very friendly local practice with 4900 patients in a beautiful semi-rural environment. As a team we aspire to excellence in all we do, and to provide the kind of care we would wish for our own families. This is evident in our extremely high levels of patient satisfaction on national patient surveys, recently scoring third highest in the East Midlands.

Essential Experience
- Experience working in primary care environment

- Registered nurse
Desirable
- Experience of working as a practice nurse within General Practice in the UK
- Chronic disease qualifications in COPD, asthma, hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease
- Wound management skills
- Immunisations and vaccinations trained
